Meet the Founders

Carmen Humphrey

Co-Founder, Educator, and College Readiness Specialist

Carmen Humphrey is a passionate educator and co-founder of Humphrey Education Services, where she combines over two decades of experience with a heartfelt commitment to student success. Based in Winter Garden, Florida, Carmen offers personalized tutoring, SAT/ACT prep, and college application guidance, with a focus on access and equity for students from all backgrounds.
 

Her journey in education has spanned roles from middle school teacher to college professor, including tenured faculty at both Valencia College and College of Central Florida, as well as  Adjunct Professor at Ana G. Mendez University and The University of Central Florida,  in addition to IB Mathematics & Dual Enrollment instructor at various schools. Carmen's classroom expertise ranges from foundational math to advanced placement and dual enrollment courses, in addition to college level mathematics such as Calculus, Statistics and more. Her experience also includes Teacher preparation, has trained new teachers, and helped design bilingual math instruction for future educators.
 

With a deep understanding of the college admissions landscape, Carmen empowers students to navigate their academic path with clarity and confidence—offering support from essays to financial aid literacy. She is fluent in both English and Spanish and brings cultural awareness to her work with diverse learners.
 

Carmen holds a Master’s degree in Curriculum & Instruction with a focus on Secondary Mathematics and a Bachelor’s in Mathematics Education. She is Google Educator Certified and highly skilled in educational technology and curriculum design.

Whether she’s mentoring a first-time test taker or supporting a student in writing a standout college essay, Carmen’s warm, encouraging approach helps learners reach their fullest potential.

Liliber “Lily” Cornielle-Cordero

Bilingual Expert and Special Education | EL, Equity & Student Support Administrator | Advocate for Multilingual Learners and Special Populations

Liliber "Lily" Cornielle is the EL, Equity & Student Support District Administrator at Plainville Community Schools in Connecticut, where she brings over two decades of experience as a dedicated educator, advocate, and leader. With certification in Special Education, TESOL, and Educational Administration (092), Lily has built her career at the intersection of language development, equity, and student support.

 

A former multilingual learner herself, Lily holds a B.A. in Public Administration from John Jay College of Criminal Justice and a Master's in Educational Leadership from National-Louis University. She began her teaching journey in 2004, serving as a Spanish and Special Education teacher across K–12 settings. This diverse classroom experience gave her a deep understanding of differentiated instruction, language acquisition, and inclusive service delivery models for all learners.
 

Since becoming a district administrator in 2020, Lily has led Plainville’s EL/MLL department with a clear mission: to ensure equitable access and outcomes for multilingual learners and students with disabilities. She leads district-wide professional development, empowering educators to effectively collaborate and meet the needs of diverse students.

 

Lily is a recognized presenter at major regional conferences, including ConnTESOL (51st–53rd annual) and the 2025 MABE Northeast Conference. Her workshops focus on high-impact collaboration between general and EL educators, equity-driven instructional leadership, and using disaggregated data to guide inclusive practices.

 

Fluent in English and Spanish—and currently learning Portuguese—Lily brings a lived understanding of linguistic and cultural diversity. Her leadership is rooted in advocacy, collaboration, and a firm belief that all students can thrive when schools are intentional, inclusive, and data-informed.
